37 weeks

We are 37 weeks along! I am in complete disbelief that we are so close. A friend texted me today to remind me that tomorrow was already September. Wow! This has gone so fast. I told Tom this week that I think I'm going to miss being pregnant when this is all done. But then again, we'll have our little peanut so I'm sure I won't miss it at all.

My sister and best friend since kindergarten threw me another adorable hot air balloon themed baby shower. It was so fun to get my friends together. Enjoy the pictures from an amazing afternoon!

My long time friend, Jennifer, is currently living in Alaska and she was so sweet to send a gift to the baby. I was so happy to get to skype with her.

Straight from Alaska!!!

The beautiful hostesses!

All the girls

Good thing my belly is big enough for all those hands!

All the Benedictine Babes...including my mom!

Power Volleyball girls. We've been playing together since 5th grade.

Look at that growing bump!

We had to take a family picture. We rarely all look this nice at the same time 😀

5 Weeks and Counting!

We are 35 weeks!  The baby's room is coming along. Tom painted a dresser for the baby. We are almost done with that. Once all the paint dries, I can start organizing the room. We are getting really anxious to see everything come together! Our stroller came in this week. I've been having fun pushing a doll around the house for practice. I haven't taken it for a spin outside. The neighbors might start wondering about the crazy woman pushing a doll in her stroller.

Kaylee and Colby had a belated suprise birthday dinner for Tom this weekend. More ice cream cake!

Showered with Love

Sunday was one of those days that make you feel so loved! My sister and mom threw baby and me a beautiful hot air balloon themed baby shower. There were so many cute little details and the food was unbelievable. Katie did not disappoint the guests. In honor of the fact that I eat "5 little cookies" everyday, she made chocolate chip cookies and pana cotta for dessert. Everything was PERFECT!
It was fun to get to share my excitement and joy with family and friends.
Everyone received a hot air balloon of their own.

My mom and sister, the fabulous party planners!

It was fun to celebrate with family!

Cousins!

Monday, I had another appointment with my doctor. As usual, everything is right on track. She predicted that this baby is about 4 pounds right now and will be about 7.5-8 lbs by the time I deliver. We will just be happy with a healthy baby!

Sleep is getting a little more difficult. Poor Tom's sleep has been suffering too because I can make quite the ruckus at night between constantly moving around, readjusting pillows, and getting up to use the restroom (and running into things in the dark). He's been a trooper and hasn't complained or asked me to find a different bed.

Other than lack of sleep, I can't complain about much else. Everything has been going great and I know how blessed I am to be having a fairly carefree pregnancy.  I did decide that softball was too much, so Monday night was the first night I went and just cheered from the dugout. I definitely wanted to be out there, but my body thanked me for not doing that!

We only have 6 more weeks until our due date!

Tom's Golden Birthday and other updates

Last week was full of a lot of excitement!  We started our week with a little drama at our softball game. I won't get into the details, but a very skinny, mouthy guy on the other team wanted to take Tom on. I'm glad this altercation didn't take place, but we all know who would have won.

Tuesday was my cousin's 30th birthday, so Katie and I went over to her house and decorated the driveway. Katie was clearly responsible for the German.  I think it says something like, "wishes of happiness today". I'm sure that's wrong, but it sounds good.

Wednesday was Tom's big {golden} birthday! I had fun spoiling him all day long. We started our morning with a little scavenger hunt that ended with a card from Baby Joerger. The baby had nice things to say...I just delivered the sentiments :)
Tom was able to sneak away for a lovely lunch together at a local fried chicken place. Tom was in heaven!!

That evening, Tom and I went to the dinner theater and saw The Adams Family. Tom was sure he knew what the show would be about until he looked at the program and was confused by the character named "Wednesday". I said she was a main character and he got really confused. We eventually realized he thought we were seeing The Munsters. Close, but very different :)
Ice cream cake is a must for every one of Tom's birthdays. This year was no exception. We got to enjoy this gigantic cake all week. (There is one piece left in the freezer. I suppose I should let the birthday boy have it.)

Saturday, we got to go to the Kenny Chesney concert. It was a very steamy, hot day! We had the car in the drive packing it up, and out of NOWHERE a huge wind/thunderstorm came through and blew out a  very large branch. Thank goodness the car wasn't back any more than it was. That would have really put a damper on our day. The storm lasted a grand total of 20 minutes and the sun came back out and our day went on. (I bet you can imagine how we spend our Sunday)

The concert was fabulous and I didn't melt! I'm not sure tailgating on the hot blacktop for 3 hours before the concert was the best idea for a woman 8 months pregnant, but I survived.
Last but not least, a belly update. This babe keep growing!! 34 weeks today!

I started a baby pool online. You can guess the gender, birthday, weight, and height. Check it out! I'm excited to see what people are thinking.  You'll need to copy and paste the link below to get to the pool.
