Birthday Weekend

Having a birthday on a Monday is actually quite fun! We've been celebrating since Friday.

Tom and I ate sushi and then saw Christmas lights on Friday night.
Saturday morning we had our breakfast picnic by the Christmas tree (2nd annual).  We started doing this last year and I LOVE IT! It's one of my favorite things about my birthday.  This year was slightly different than last.  Last year Savannah was napping, but not this year.  She was pretty good at sitting with us and enjoying coffee and breakfast pizza from my favorite bakery in town.
After breakfast, we played a game of cribbage (Tom beat me).

Could she be more of a Diva?
Checking out the new fallen snow.
Prepping for our "girl's pasta day"....brought to your by our in house chef, Katie.
Rolling dough for our ravioli day

 So much ravioli!!!
Today we opted out of a Christmas exchange and got together to make ravioli.  If you have never done this, wow! Ravioli is seriously a lot of work!!! We went through 7.,5 dozen eggs and I don't even know how many bags of flour! Who knew what all went into making ravioli.  I didn't know!

It's been a fun weekend of birthday celebrations and Christmas fun!

Happy 4th week of advent. Christmas is O-N-E week away! (oh, and my birthday is o-n-e day away! eeeek)

Santa Claus is coming to town + birthday celebrations

We made our annual trip to Crown Center to see Santa.  Tom was able to leave work for about an hour so he could join us!  We got there before Tom so we just watched Santa a little to warm her up.  (Before we left the house, I was showing Savannah pictures of happy kids sitting on Santa's lap.  I was really trying to prep her for what was about to happen. )

While we were walking around the play area, Santa came out and was talking to us.  There wasn't a line, so I assume he wanted to stretch his legs a bit.  I was hoping that with this added encounter that Savannah would sit and smile for the camera....haha!!
I love how she is just staring at Santa.
She definitely liked to keep an eye on him.
You can almost read her mind, "Who is this guy, and why won't he leave me alone?"
Katie tried showing Savannah that Santa wasn't scary.
 Family Picture
And then we just had to get one picture like this.  Isn't it a rite of passage or something?
High 5's are good with her!
Savannah was way more excited about the reindeer than the whole Santa thing.
We took advantage of bringing Katie along to snap a few family pics.

Can you tell she likes her dad?

Want a smile out of Savannah...give her a little tickle.
 Roommates!

We were excited to celebrate Kaylee's birthday this morning with brunch.  It was extra special because we got to see Katie at work too! She even managed to come out and see us a few times.
 Our favorite Chef

Another birthday shout out to my dad! Happy 56th Birthday yesterday!  We started the morning with donuts and coffee at his house with Katie.  Then everyone came here for dinner, cake, and presents.  We were supposed to watch Christmas Vacation (his pick) but everyone was so chatty we never got the movie started.  It was a wonderful evening with family! Happy Birthday!!!

Minnesota, we're coming for you in 8 days!

Savannah Picasso

Savannah got to hang out with Lindsey and Ean yesterday for a few hours.  They said they were going to watch Life of Pets, but totally fooled me and worked on some art projects.
It looks like she enjoyed getting a little messy!

Her finished masterpiece! It's framed and everything! Such a great keepsake!
After they finished working on their art, Savannah and Ean had a fireside picnic.
She has -Z E R O- fun hanging out with Ean :)

I got to open mine when I picked her up.  Tom got his when he came home from work.  I spy 2 proud faces!

Serious Savannah likes to sit on the counter while I make breakfast.  She wants to make sure that food is coming soon!
Savannah enjoyed her lunch, possibly a little too much today.
Doesn't everyone have to strip their clothes after lunch?

There is so much to look forward to...

My dad's birthday: 4 days
My birthday (not that I am counting...hehe): 10 days
Minnesota: 13 days
Christmas: 16 days
O'Connor Christmas: 29 days

Happy Friday all!

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken back in October.  I wanted to wait until Christmas cards came out to share our photos.

The same photographer that took Savannah's newborn shots did these pictures.  Let's just say, I am having a hard time picking just a few to frame.  That's always a good problem!

It's hard to pick my favorite one of the 3 of us.  This one was immediately my favorite, but I am starting to love the one with her waving.  They all show her personality.

At times Savannah can be so serious, and other times she giggles and laughs.  She can flip back and forth so fast too!
That face.  Those little teeth.  Her hands. I love this girl!

We asked my sister and parents to come along so we could get some good family pictures too.  I am so happy with how they all turned out!

Savannah and Katie even got to take a few together.
