Quick Trip to Minnesota

Last Friday, we took off for our short (but very sweet) 48 hours in Minnesota.

Tom & I have tried to avoid the Friday to Sunday trips since Miss Savannah has joined our lives, but sometimes things just happen.

Tom was already driving up this weekend to enjoy his brother's bachelor party, so Savannah and I decided to tag along when a double baptism was planned for the same weekend.

Rewind just a bit: a while back, Justin and Maria asked if we would be Ruby's Godparents, and Tom and I were beyond honored.  We were excited to share in this amazing sacrament, but can I tell you that trying to coordinate schedules between several busy families was nearly impossible.

Then, my other niece, Eva, was officially adopted by Sarah and Tim last Wednesday.  Let's get them both baptized at the same time! Why not!

It all worked out perfectly.  Although the weekend was short (and the drive home never seemed to end) we wouldn't change it for anything.  These are the times we will remember for years to come.

On Saturday, while the boys partied and the girls (Sarah, Maria, and Gail) had a bridal shower in the cities, I got to hang out with Savannah, Brooklyn, and Eva.

For the most part, the day went pretty well.  Getting three kids to nap at the same time is a total win in my book!

My lovely daughter is just slightly more aggressive than her darling cousin, so I did have to play referee a bit more than I would have liked.

One of these days, Savannah and Brooklyn will be best of friends.  Until then, they just need to play separately :)

Lunch and Dinner were so peaceful.  They were both strapped in and couldn't touch each other.
This little cutie loved rolling and wiggling all over the floor!
Savannah's first experience with play dough.  I think we will be making some of our own soon.  It was a successful activity!
Proud Godparents with Miss Ruby Ann.  We will always be there for you sweet girl.  Look to God in time of trouble and in times of happiness.  He's always there, just like us!
Love you Ruby!
Tom's grandma is the sweetest lady! I was so happy we got to see her on this trip!

Tuesday, Savannah and I went to one of our favorite places, Deanna Rose Farmstead.  We met a friend and her son.  It is always fun to have a little adult conversation.

 Savannah is making it harder and harder to get a cute picture.  What a goof!
Savannah has to do everything her dad does!

Savannah loves going to Tom's garden.  Tonight they got to pick weeds.  Let's hope she enjoys this chore for years and years to come!

Meeting Patrick

The first weekend in May, the three of us flew out to Charlotte to visits the Gust family and meet Patrick for the first time.  He turned 11 weeks while we were there.  It was so fun to go back in time to the newborn stage.  Savannah was in love at first sight...with the dogs too!

{Savannah wanted to do tummy time after Patrick finished}

 {We took the dogs for a walk one morning.  Savannah loved walking next to them!}
 {Best Buddies!}

{Story time}

{How cute are all these puppies}

{When every showers and dresses up at the same time, you take a picture}

We had a wonderful visit! Thank you to the Gust's for their amazing hospitality.  We can't wait to see Joslin and Patrick in June! xoxo

See ya later!

My sister had been living here since June, but as of a few weeks ago, she is living her dream in Montana.  She is working for a family on their ranch as one of their chefs.  We are proud of her for doing what she loves.

Before she left, we had one last send off at the coffee house she had been working at.

Savannah got to skype with Katie yesterday and got the biggest smile on her face when she saw her auntie.  They definitely has a bond.

See you in October, Katie!

Last few weeks

{I have a feeling in a few years, you will see Savannah in some pretty wild outfits.  She has quite an opinion about her clothes already.  On this particular day it was her jacket over her swimsuit with water shoes. }

 {Filling up her pool}

 {Playing in the fountains in Downtown OP}
 {Mother's Day morning after church - we had breakfast reservations and a little time to kill before so we stopped at a park to try to run some energy out of the little one}
 {I'm so thankful this little girl made me a mom.  I am so thankful that God gave her to me. It's an honor I was cherish forever.}

 {Two mom's enjoying their ice cream cake. You can never go wrong with ice cream cake}
 {This little one has a green thumb}
 {She loves her "soup-suit"}
 {Oh yes, she had to take her swimsuit along with us on our walk}
 {Checking out the baby ducks}
 {taking an important phone call on our walk}
