Savannah's Baptism

Savannah was baptized this past Sunday.  I was so touched when I turned around at the beginning of mass to see that our families filled the first three pews of the church.  It feels wonderful to know that Savannah is growing up surrounded by families that are going to support her faith.

We were incredibly honored that Friar John (my mom's cousin) was able to travel to KC for this beautiful sacrament.

Savannah was not a fan of the holy water on her head.

Tom's parents and brother made the long trip from Minnesota to join Savannah for her special day.
Savannah and her Godparents - Michael (Tom's Brother) and Katie (My Sister)

You would think we coordinated our color scheme.
Mom Fail:  I bought Savannah a beautiful cake.  Tom pulled in out of the fridge after everyone had left and said, "Erin, did you want to serve this?"  Let's just say we have more cake than 2 people can eat!

Cheesin' in front of the tree
 Such a happy girl!

Time flies!

So much has happened since my last post. Where has the time gone? Not only did the Royals win the World Series {amazing!!}, but Savannah is growing, growing, growing. I can't believe how big she's getting!

She is going to be seven weeks old in just a few days. Savannah has already out grown her newborn clothes. I was folding them last week and couldn't believe she ever fit in those onesies!

We got all the pictures back from her newborn photo shoot. I can't pick a favorite because there are so many cute ones!

I'm so glad we'll have these to look back and see how little she was.

Some started smiling right at one months. So adorable. It just melts my heart when she smiles at me.
She wasn't sure about this photo thing :)

She really likes her bouncer.
Tom and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary with our first date away from Savannah. It only lasted about an hour but we missed her too much to stay away :)

Halloween costumes with friends!
The Queen of Hearts...Savannah was too hot in her costume to keep it on.
First family Halloween. Dorothy, ToTo, and the scarecrow.

Visiting daddy at work. He liked showing Savannah off to his coworkers.
Savannah got to witness her first Royals World Series championship. We both have been waiting our ENTIRE lives to see this! There was no way we were missing the celebration downtown. We got to the parade about three hours before it started to ensure a good spot. She slept most of the time.
...and there is the trophy! What an amazing day!

She loves looking at the toys on her bouncer.

Katie had fun accessorizing Savannah on our way to the lake. We had a fun girls weekend full of shopping and playing cards.
Why wouldn't a baby wear pajamas and goggles?

Exhausted from all the shopping.

Savannah is 3 weeks!

Savannah Rose is three weeks old. Three weeks!? It's been three weeks of baby cuddles and endless hours of staring at our sweet baby girl. It is amazing how I can just look at her all day.

In these wonderful last three weeks we've only had two or three rough nights. Savannah usually sleeps for about 3.5 hour stints. The last two nights she has slept from 9 pm to 3 am! What a difference 6 hours of sleep can make on everyone.

I have a hard time telling if Savannah is gaining weight, but then I look at pictures from last week and I see a difference.

Before we had Savannah, I always thought Tom would make a great dad.  Let me tell you, he has blown my expectations out of the water. He is so hands on with Savannah. He changes almost every single diaper while he's home and knows just how to calm her down or get her to sleep. There is no way I could do this without him. He has made this new chapter in our lives that much better!

Savannah loves going on walks with me. We try to get out daily. We recently went to Antioch park and walked the trails. It was so beautiful with the leaves changing. She also loves accompanying me to Sam's club.

We seem to be there at least once a week. She hasn't got the hang of church yet.
The first two weeks she made it to the gospel before she started crying. We just hang out in the back when that happens. Last weekend we started In the cry room and she held it together until after communion. We're making progress!!

Savannah LOVES to stretch out after she's been in her sleep sack all night.

She's already praying. What an angel. Tom says she going to be a nun...or the first woman linebacker in the NFL. I think I'd rather her be a nun, but hey, chase your dreams girl!

Tom's sister put on the second annual Faith 5K in honor of our sweet niece and other babies that have gone on to heaven. We couldn't make it this year, but decided to walk our own 5K in honor of Faith. We can't wait to go next year!

Savannah Rose

Savannah Rose is finally here and we couldn't be more in love.

September 24 - 8 pounds 3 ounces - 20.5 inches

I plan on writing out her birth story in more detail, but for now I wanted to share some pictures from her first few days.

Our last selfie as a family of two.

Last belly picture! Ready to meet our daughter.

...and just like that, our lives are forever changed.

Emmy, our nurse, made Savannah her first bow.

Look at those cheeks. Tom can't keep his hands off them!

Daddy and Daughter

Savannah got to meet Grandpa for the first time.

She was not a fan of her car seat when we left the hospital.

Waiting for Daddy to bring the car around so we could go home!

Everyone was tired when we came home. My favorite picture of this duo so far.

Testing out her crib for the first time. We still aren't sure about it.

Sometimes she still thinks she is in the womb.

This tiny girl has brought more love to our lives than I ever expected.
