Pool Time!

We took Savannah to the pool for the first time last Saturday.  Our gym has an indoor pool and we have been talking about taking her for a while. She loves bath time so we were sure she'd love the pool.
The pool wasn't as warm as her bath so I think it was a bit of a shock.

I think we might have a little swimmer on our hands.
She quickly started to enjoy it!
We will definitely be taking her back! She was asleep in the car before we pulled out of the parking lot.
Savannah is a daredevil! She's constantly pulling herself on furniture and will attempt the one arm hold!!
Savannah gets to spend lots of time with grandma and grandpa when Tom and I are mowing our lawns. We appreciate all the time they spend with her.
Looks at those bald buddies!
Savannah turned 7 months old on Sunday! Such a big girl. She got her first tooth yesterday!!

Lazy Monday

Savannah is peacefully sleeping (for now), I made a delicious breakfast and am still working on my coffee. This is how mornings are supposed to be! I usually use her nap time for housework, but my rockstar husband cleaned the kitchen for me last night so I am just taking a few minutes to relax!
We had a busy weekend filled with a work event for Tom on Friday (Savannah and I got to attend), mowing lawns and a housewarming party Saturday, and Sunday I hosted a baby shower for a friend and played volleyball in the evening. It was a go, go, go weekend!
It's been pouring all morning and that type of weather always makes laying on the couch in front of the TV a very appealing activity! Maybe I'll get to that after this.

Savannah loves play dates with this kiddo! She thinks he is the best thing ever. It's hilarious to watch her, watching him. She can't take her eyes off him!
Here she is completely zoned in on him.
We went to his soccer game this weekend.  Savannah loves being outside!
She is also obsessed with the vacuum! While we were cleaning the house for the shower this weekend, she enjoyed watching us push this loud contraption around.
After the shower, we walked to my parents house. It was such a beautiful day, we couldn't waste it being inside! They have a tv outside where they watch all the royals games by the fire. The back yard gets more use than any other room in their house. We love it!!
Best buddies!

We're trying to bring those darn Twins some luck!  When they aren't playing the Royals, they are our favorite team to cheer for! How cute is that bow!?

Swinging at our favorite park
Pictures before daddy leaves for work! We love that he works so hard for us!

I used this baby picture for my shower this weekend. I know everyone says Savannah looks like Tom and I agree, but I can see some of myself too! Same nose! This is a picture of me at 5 Months.
Remember at the beginning of this post I said I wanted to lay on the couch and watch TV? Savannah always knows when that is just about to happen and that's when she wakes up. Oh well looks like it's play time again.

We have a crawler!

Savannah  has moved out of reverse and is now in drive. This little girl can now crawl forward, but only when there is something she really wants in front of her. Her preferences are the newspaper, the mail, or her wipes. She also found that her voice can hit a hit pitched noise now. Silly little girl!

Savannah the puppy dog

I hope this brings a smile to your hump day! Before anyone gets too excited, Savannah's pjs are not a pregnancy announcement. I didn't even notice them until someone mentioned it. They say "little sister". They are a lovely hand me down from Savannah's favorite cousin!

Happy Wednesday!

Easter week

We had an Easter to remember! Tom and I hosted our first holiday for his immediate family. We had so much fun having everyone under one roof for a long weekend. Savannah and Brooklyn warmed up to each other here and there. I don't think Brooklyn was used to Savannah's aggressive and tight grip. Savannah liked to grab on her clothes...and maybe Brooklyn's hair a few times. We can't wait to see how they play together in June when we go up for a family wedding and week long vacation.
Our weather was crazy last week. The day before all the Joergers arrived, we reached 75 and sunny! Then, they came on Thursday and we were hovering around 35. Brrrrr! Easter morning we woke up with snow covering the ground and still coming down. Good thing Kansas weather changes so quickly. By the afternoon we were able to go to the park. The snow had melted and the sun was out. What a bizarre day!

Tom and I had so much fun with his family. There were countless card games played and many laughs shared! We can't wait to host our next family weekend!

Lawn mowing season has started again and I am again taking over Katie's lawns since she won't be home from Hawaii until July. My parents love watching Savannah while I get my work done. Savannah really enjoyed the swings at the park. We appreciate all the time they spend with Savannah!

Sitting in the front yard while I clean out the car.

We're testing out different sippy cups. The verdict is still out on her favorite.
Whenever Tom or I brush our teeth, Savannah gives us the biggest smile. She LOVES to hold our electric toothbrush while we brush. She's a big supporter of oral hygiene :)

We make it to the library about twice a week. I love having book around to read to her. One of these days she will actually be interested in the book (more than just trying to eat the pages).
I was a substitute for the first time last Friday. The PE teacher at my old grade school called and asked if I was interested. My immediate thought was, no! I can't leave Savannah all day. I thought about it and decided it might be good for both of us to do it. Savannah got to spend the day with some good friends. She loves this little boy so much. I am told that she just smiled and giggled at him all day! Subbing was a lot of fun. I was so busy that the day flew by. It was fun to be a teacher again. I know someday I'll go back to my first profession, but for now being a mama perfect!
Last night was the Royals home opener. Ironically, we played the Mets (a rematch of the World Series). We all dressed in our blue and went to my parents for a cook out.  We could not have had better weather. {I'll take 80 degrees in April!} My dad brings his TV outside in the summer so we got to enjoy the game under the stars. What a great end to a wonderful weekend...oh yeah, and the royals won so that didn't hurt anything :)
