Easter week

We had an Easter to remember! Tom and I hosted our first holiday for his immediate family. We had so much fun having everyone under one roof for a long weekend. Savannah and Brooklyn warmed up to each other here and there. I don't think Brooklyn was used to Savannah's aggressive and tight grip. Savannah liked to grab on her clothes...and maybe Brooklyn's hair a few times. We can't wait to see how they play together in June when we go up for a family wedding and week long vacation.
Our weather was crazy last week. The day before all the Joergers arrived, we reached 75 and sunny! Then, they came on Thursday and we were hovering around 35. Brrrrr! Easter morning we woke up with snow covering the ground and still coming down. Good thing Kansas weather changes so quickly. By the afternoon we were able to go to the park. The snow had melted and the sun was out. What a bizarre day!

Tom and I had so much fun with his family. There were countless card games played and many laughs shared! We can't wait to host our next family weekend!

Lawn mowing season has started again and I am again taking over Katie's lawns since she won't be home from Hawaii until July. My parents love watching Savannah while I get my work done. Savannah really enjoyed the swings at the park. We appreciate all the time they spend with Savannah!

Sitting in the front yard while I clean out the car.

We're testing out different sippy cups. The verdict is still out on her favorite.
Whenever Tom or I brush our teeth, Savannah gives us the biggest smile. She LOVES to hold our electric toothbrush while we brush. She's a big supporter of oral hygiene :)

We make it to the library about twice a week. I love having book around to read to her. One of these days she will actually be interested in the book (more than just trying to eat the pages).
I was a substitute for the first time last Friday. The PE teacher at my old grade school called and asked if I was interested. My immediate thought was, no! I can't leave Savannah all day. I thought about it and decided it might be good for both of us to do it. Savannah got to spend the day with some good friends. She loves this little boy so much. I am told that she just smiled and giggled at him all day! Subbing was a lot of fun. I was so busy that the day flew by. It was fun to be a teacher again. I know someday I'll go back to my first profession, but for now being a mama perfect!
Last night was the Royals home opener. Ironically, we played the Mets (a rematch of the World Series). We all dressed in our blue and went to my parents for a cook out.  We could not have had better weather. {I'll take 80 degrees in April!} My dad brings his TV outside in the summer so we got to enjoy the game under the stars. What a great end to a wonderful weekend...oh yeah, and the royals won so that didn't hurt anything :)
