Final catch up

How cool is this park? My mom used to play on those animals, then she took my sister and I to play, and now I got to take Savannah.  Things have definitely changed and modernized, but the animals have always been there.

I played volleyball with all these mamas back in college.  One was visiting from Georgia and it was so wonderful to see her.  I hadn't seen her since her wedding! What a fun play date!

Story time in her sleeping bag.
 On Monday, I got to fill in for a friend's sand volleyball team.  The game was early enough that Tom was able to bring Savannah.

I am not a fan of letting Savannah play in the sand because it get everywhere.

When we first got there, she wasn't too sure of this unsteady ground.  It didn't take her long to dive right in and roll around in the sand.

Listen to Savannah when she gets to the top of the slide.
She counts to three and then goes.  Cracks me up!
 Look at that face.  She is such a goon!
Taking a lunch break at the pool during our play date with friends on Thursday.

Huggie Bear is a stuffed animal that Joan keeps on her bed.  It was for her late husband and has a band aid on his head because Woody (her husband) had fallen and had a band aid on his head too.  Savannah is obsessed with this bear.  Every time we go over there, she bee lines (is that how you spell that!?) for Joan's room and grabs Huggie.

 Tom came home early on Thursday and I was headed to a play with my mom so it was nice that they could swim and play in the back yard while I got ready.
This was the best face Savannah would give me.
She was too interested in the water to stop play and take a picture.

Father's Day Fun

Father's day weekend was full of family and fun.

Tom has been incredibly busy at work, so it was fun to have a whole weekend of quality time.

We started the weekend off with a children's performance of the Kansas City Symphony.  It was called a "Brass Bash".  5 of the talented brass players came and played songs that the kids all knew.  Then they each talked about their instrument and at the end, the kids got to play with all the instruments.

The Kauffman Center has the most beautiful view of our favorite city!

 We got to sit on the stage during the performance.  First and only time i'll probably be ON the stage.
 Their bond is like no other.  There are always laughs between these two goofballs.
 We walked around Crown Center and went outside to check out the fountains.
 Lunch at Fritz's.

There is a train that drives around the top of the room and it delivers your meal to you.  Savannah got a kick out of using the phone at our table to place our order.

On Sunday, we met my parents at 7:00 mass and then enjoyed a delicious breakfast at their house.

Tom had softball games during nap time, so he went out into the heat while we slept and hung out at the house.

Dinner was at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Mi Ranchito.
Tom even got a margarita to celebrate his special day!

After dinner, we enjoyed some delicious ice cream cake.  No holiday would be complete without DQ!
Savannah is definitely taking after her dad in the ice cream department.

update continued

One of our favorite parks also has a splash pad.  Savannah and I stopped by a few weeks ago to walk and play.  She spotted the water and wanted to get it.  What the heck, get wet. We can dry off later.

The very next day, we were in the area again, so I made sure I packed her suit, sunscreen, and water shoes.  Do you think she wanted to play in the water this day? Heck no! She wanted nothing to do with it.

Keeping Savannah occupied can sometimes pose a challenge.

I needed to clean out the cars (Tom was out of town so I tackled his car.  Yes, I found receipts from 2014, what!?)

Good thing a cooler full of water, some golf balls, and cups can keep her busy for a while.
 No pants!? No problem!

The library always has the best toys.

Helping Grandpa water Joan's flowers.

 Showering Kaylee and Baby Rieke with love and all the baby supplies you could possibly need! We cannot wait to meet that little nugget.  Boy or Girl!? We get to find out soon! Yay!

Savannah was happy to be reunited with her buddy Patrick.  She would hold him all day, but there were other people who wanted their turn.
 Nana and Cindy came in town for the shower.  We loved spending the weekend with them!
We went for a walk into Downtown OP on Sat and Savannah got to play in the fountains when we got there.

Savannah loves going to Joan's to play
 She enjoys stealing Joan's seat when she gets up for a drink.
 And she always leave pretty artwork.
 This is Savannah after a visit with Joan.  She didn't move from this position for 15 minutes.  Tom came home and asked what I did to her.  I said we were at Joan's...oh yeah, and it might have been a warm, humid 90 degrees.  She was exhausted.
{Thanks Cindy, for the watering can!}
Last week, I got to watch my cousins three kids so she could enjoy a well deserved girls weekend in Wine country.  Savannah loved having multiple buddies to play with all day!

I had a moment of weakness and let her play in the sand.  Why does it have to get EVERYWHERE! You can't wipe that stuff off.
 The girls!

 The littles enjoying their pool snack.

 Our last day together, pool fun!!

I'm back (one month later, oops!)

Where has the month of June gone!? I am way behind on my pictures and videos.  The more I thought about updating, the more I wanted to put it off.

Where do I start!?

We'll go back and see if we can get it all covered.

{My mom gave Savannah a watering can.  She couldn't part with it that night.  Gotta pick your battles.}
{Savannah loves taking care of this garden just about as much as Tom.  Everyday she wants to go look at it and loves bringing in produce!}
{Over Memorial Day weekend, we had a family day at Deanna Rose.  It was Tom's first visit.  It didn't disappoint!}

{I can't remember if I have posted this, but it just cracks me up! These two can have fun with anything!!}
{Yogurt is still a favorite with this little lady}
 {Strawberry Shortcake is a staple in the summer. Instead of dessert, it's more like a second dinner...  Makes my mouth water looking at it!}
{An inflatable pool is the best summer investment. Ours from last year already got a hole, but for the amount we use it, we knew we needed a new one}

At the beginning of June, I took a weekend trip to Denver to celebrate a good friend's birthday.  Her sister lives there, so she was able to set up a fun weekend for us!  My favorite day was when we got to go on a hike.

 The hike they chose was "easy".  I do not want to see what "medium" or even "hard" would have been.
 The hike up was pretty steep and exhausting, but the view from the top made us easily forget the trek up.

 All the ladies

 The beautiful city of Golden, CO

OK, that's enough for this one.  I'll keep going and try to get caught up later!
