Birthday celebrations!

Savannah's birthday weekend was the perfect mix of fun, relaxation, family, and celebrating!  As fun as the first birthday was with the party and the smash cake and all the details, this was nice to have a very low pressure day just celebrating our little sweetheart.

 Savannah's  buddy, Evie stopped by on Saturday afternoon to drop off a special birthday present. Evie has had her backpack for a while and loved sharing it with Savannah when she would come over to play. Now they are the same! Savannah has hardly taken this backpack off since she received it. It's easy to say we know what her favorite birthday present was.
Same same
Decorating her cake with Grandma. Tom and I went out on sat night so Savannah and Grandma made her cake while we were out. I frosted it when we got home and thought Savannah would get a kick out of doing the decorating. Like I said, this was a low pressure birthday, and it was just perfect! More emphasis on Savannah and less on the details.
Her finished product
Blowing out her TWO candles!
She dug right into the presents. She wasn't shy about those.
New shoes!! I'm all for practical gifts. She needed new shoes so why not just wrap them up!
She didn't want to take them off for nap time.
My mom has been working on Savannah's Christmas stocking for almost two years. Hundreds and hundreds (literally) hours have been spent working on this.
The details on this thing are amazing!
How amazing is this? All cross stitch!
Playing with her new baking set from her great aunt Lisa.
Deanna Rose is Savannah's all time favorite place to go. Of course we had to go on her birthday. She got to try the fishing for the first time.

Waiting for that worm to get on the hook.
Here fishy fishy fishy
Her first fish! (Sorta...I think Tom might have done most of the work. )
Feeding the goats. Always a favorite.
Walking through the gardens
What a ham!
My growing belly.
Last picture of the day with our big girl! Love you Savannah! Can't wait to see all the new things you'll learn and do this year.

Savannah is 2!

Savannah is currently snoozing off her cake and ice cream high.  I'll post more about her birthday after all the festivities of our day are done.
For now, enjoy a video that google photos made for me.  How do they know it's her birthday!?
This video really pulled at my heart strings.  Way to go Google!

We love you sweet Savannah!

Happy 2nd birthday!

Papa Jim Visits KC

We've been blessed to have so many family visitors in the past month.  Our most recent one was Papa Jim! Savannah was very excited to see him, as Tom and I would tell her that he was coming soon.

We checked out a local park festival where they had animals (alive and some not), a hayride, and an amazing Beatles cover band.
{Checking out the animal skins.  Savannah wasn't really sure what to think about these.}

{Learning about the screech owl}
 {Enjoying some Beatles classics}
 {Family Hayride - Jim was nice enough to take a few pictures.  We need to travel with a personal photographer more often}
 {Savannah, did you smile?}
 {She didn't enjoy spending time with Papa.  Nope, not at all!}

 {Savannah always gives baby hugs and kisses in the mornings.  The other day she said, "Baby getting big!" Yes, she is correct!}
 {I think she is going to make a fabulous big sister!}
{ Coloring a card for Papa after he left to go home}
 {Savannah and I picked up pizza from Sam's club and had a picnic in the backyard for lunch}
{Doing her part to make the backyard prettier}
 {She told me with total certainty that this was a tree.}
 {She brought all her books from her room to my bed so we could snuggle and read together}
 {We got to watch Mary Grace for a few hours this week.  Savannah loves holding her and cuddling up next to her!}
 {I cannot believe how big Mary Grace is getting.  She seriously doesn't look like the same kid!}
 Eva celebrated her FIRST birthday yesterday.  We were sad to miss it, but will celebrate with her when she comes to KC next week!
{Just a goofy girl}

Bridal Shower

I think Savannah has some growing to do before she can borrow my shoes.

 Library Fun
 I am still working on cleaning our back room out.  As I vacuum, dust, and clean all the boxes and anything sitting out in the back room, I am also trying to purge.
Why do I need every single medal I've ever won? It just takes up space.  As my dad would say, "when in doubt, throw it out." That's been my motto.  Savannah enjoyed playing with the medals before they found their home in the trash can.
Grandma and Grandpa's house is always fun.  Savannah enjoyed playing in the water.

 Deanna Rose never disappoints.
Savannah loves feeding those little goats.

 We stopped in the Enchanted Forest for some lunch on a bench.
 I saved half of her sandwich for the drive home.  I have learned that I need to save something so else the drive home is less than enjoyable.
Tuesdays and Fridays at the trampoline park have a special kids rate.  Now that school is back in session, the place isn't as crowded.  We had this whole room to ourselves.
 Friday night, Papa Jim came in town for a visit.  Tom was still flying home from Nashville, so we went to Kaylee and Colby's to visit Mary Grace and enjoy some Papa Murphys...oh yeah, and ice cream. Savannah didn't want to miss a single bite of that cone.

Kaylee put Savannah to work on the salad.  You can always count on Savannah to belly up to the counter and help with the cooking.
 Papa Jim got to meet Miss Mary Grace.  Savannah loves hanging out with her buddy!
 Saturday morning, we did our usual routine of walking to the farmers market and enjoying the live music.  Savannah got some bubbles to keep her busy for a few minutes.
Saturday, we got to shower my Aunt Lisa for her upcoming wedding. I was in charge of making the Sangria.  Savannah wanted in on the fruit squeezing fun!

We had a wine theme (which I obviously couldn't participate fully in, bummer.)
Look at all that cheese! So delicious!

 Eva and Anna making their own fun.
 How cute is this cake!? My mom's coworker made this! It was delicious too!
 The future Mrs. Silovsky
(my mom made the sign in her Sculptural Welding class.  Is there anything this woman can't do!?)
 The pink ladies!
 The young ones
 The LaNoue Ladies!
Everyone is wondering if we will add another lady to this crew or throw a curve ball to the family and have a little boy.  Who knows!
