I can't complain about the amount of sleep I'm getting. I think my days just wear me out more and more so I try to get all the sleep I can. Madison has nights where she goes to sleep at 7 and won't wake up until 4 am. Then, the very next night she might be up every 3 hours. I haven't figured out how to get more of the 7-4 nights yet.
Even on her most trying nights, she hardly cries. She basically just grunts and squirms around. I would take that any night over screams and crying. I think we're doing just fine over here!
Savannah is still being a wonderful big sister. She loves when Madison comes with me to get her up in the morning or after nap. Every morning, she asks to hold Madison. Sometimes it might be for 20 seconds and other days 5 minutes. She loves helping any way she can.
here comes a month's worth of pictures...
When we randomly have nice weather, Savannah and I like to set up our chairs on the driveway, enjoy coffee, watch the squirrels and birds, and wave to neighbors. It's the little joys that make our days so much fun together.
Every Morning - "Can I hold my Madison?"
This is how Savannah tries to get Madison to look at my camera. Little Mama.
Oh hi there sweetie!
My mom made Savannah her very own playhouse.
Isn't she so creative? It goes over our card table. She even personalized it to have our house number and everything! What would we do without Grandma? (She made the Elsa and Ana capes too.)
We had been trapped in our house due to cold weather and snow (just a few inches, nothing like our MN family haha)
Time to bring the snow inside for a little scooping fun!
Savannah is on the left, Madison is on the right.
Tom has been traveling a lot recently. He's had two work trips and two different MN trips in the last month. We miss him every time he leaves and love when he returns!
Savannah was making signs and pictures to welcome Daddy home
Welcoming dad home with all her beautiful artwork...also kept her busy for a few minutes so I could take care of Madison.
Group Pic from when Jim and Gail were in town.
We sent some love to Minnesota for Mason's first birthday!
Savannah loves playing and reading books on her top bunk. She is only allowed to climb up or down if Mom or dad are in the room. She amazes me by what a rule stickler she is. When Aunt Katie went up there to play with her one day, Savannah made sure Katie went down on her belly. That's the rule!
Every time Savannah wants to wear her Hawaiian shirt, I think of Ace Ventura.
Then, when she wakes up from nap with crazy bed head, she really gets the look down!
Our first walk together! Love this double stroller.
Savannah found the Bunny ears and wore them the rest of the morning.
Those cheeks!!
Sisters!
When you spit up as much as this lady, you don't care what the bib looks like.
This lady was excited that grandpa gave her a dollar to put in the collection plate at church.
Helping me make coffee cake
Brunch time and Skype! Jennifer lives in Alaska now, but that doesn't stop us from having brunch with her. Lifelong friends!! Distance won't break us.
I love that our crew is so different, yet we are the best of friends. No matter how long we've been apart, we pick right back up where we left off.
Single, dating, married, pregnant, and babies! We cover it all!
Showing off her new bow from Auntie Sarah, Uncle Tim, and Eva.
Savannah's favorite outdoor activity, playing with her umbrella.
Loving on Dad, every chance she has.
Tom's cousin Kimberly was in town for a conference and opted for late flight on Sunday night so she could hang out with us. She did the same thing last fall and Savannah clearly remembered her. She buddied right up to Kim. So sweet.
Getting in a game of Phase 10
Morning snuggles in bed - Savannah already has her cape on. As you can see in many of the pictures, she basically lives in that thing. We take it off to eat and sleep.
I don't feel like I worry about too much with Savannah and her development. I know she will pick up on things when she is ready. However, there was a brief period of time I was convinced she was colorblind. She was consistently mixing up red and green. Colors meant nothing to her.
I should have known that she just wasn't ready to show me she knew them yet. Now she loves matching colors and tells me what is what all the time.
For Lent, Tom and I wanted to incorporate more prayer into our family. Of course we started discussing this the day before Lent, so it didn't give me much time to come up with something. We've also been talking about Easter alot because Tom's family will be coming to KS to spend the weekend with us. Savannah is so excited!!!
I decided to make a prayer chain so we could pray for a different person each day of Lent AND it would serve as a countdown for the arrival of Eva, Brooklyn, and Ruby at Easter.
We had so much fun creating this! I let Savannah come up with the names of people she wanted to pray for. Without any prompting, she came up with all but the last week of names all on her own. It was so sweet to see her little mind work. She did, however, want to pray for her bathrobe a few times, but I just reminded her we were going to pray for people.
Evie and her parents came over for dinner last week. Savannah was so excited to have a buddy to wear her other cape. Originally she asked my mom for the Elsa cape, but then decided she needed a second one...just in case a friend came over. They needed a cape too, duh!
Samesies with Katie
Due to the flu going around, we have not visited my grandma in a few months. I'm still not ready to bring Madison due to all the germs, but Savannah and I went to visit grandma with my dad last weekend. Savannah enjoyed the chocolate cake they were serving. This little girl brightens the faces of all the men and women we see while we are there.
They have a big display of colorful birds at the front of the building. Savannah loves looking at them.
A rare moment when Madison was awake, Savannah was awake, AND the sun was out. We couldn't waste this gift!
This girl loves the sun and being outside.
We are going to have so much fun once we can get out more often.
2.27.17 - My baby is two months old!!! It is flying by!
Lunch outside
Every morning, we take a chain off the prayer chain. She loves seeing who we are going to pray for that day. Guess who's day it was today!! Savannah!!
She was so excited that it was her day. She loves hearing us pray for her.
It's been fun listening to her prayers for other people. We've been praying for good health a lot, so somehow going to the doctor has ended up in her prayers for most people. I love seeing her love of Jesus and prayer growing.
Whew!! That was our February. Hopefully I won't wait so long next time.
