The simple life

There are so many reason I enjoy staying at home, but last week I was reminded that I get to enjoy the simple moments.  Nothing big happened.  We stayed at home most of the time.  The three of us hardly got our of our pajamas. Isn't that a description of the perfect week?
I am constantly thankful for the hard work and long hours Tom puts in so that I can stay at home with these two love bugs!

A friend of mine gave Savannah these PJs.  I love seeing Madison is all of Savannah's clothes.
 So happy together

Savannah wanted to get in on the "tummy time"
 My little penguin beauty
"Mama, will you take a picture?"
Whenever I ask to take a picture, she wants nothing to do with it.  I have to take advantage when she wants to be photographed.
AHHHH! We got a preview of Madison's newborn pictures.  I cannot wait to see the rest!!
That little smirk!
Two smiles at the same time

Happy Birthday to Madison's Godmother!
She's a living example of selfless love and a fantastic mother.  We are all so #thankfulandgrateful to have her in our lives! We love you Jackie!

Video Update

I always forget to add my videos to the posts.  Enjoy a handful of videos since Madison has been born.

Best video - Savannah had trouble with the first few poops.  She would gag, but wouldn't walk away.  We had a hard time containing our laughter!

Sister Love

It has been so much fun watching Savannah and Madison together.  I knew Savannah would be a good big sister, but I also figured the novelty of Madison would eventually disappear...nope!

Savannah loves when I bring Madison into her room in the morning or after nap time.  She acts like she hasn't seen her sister in years.  It is adorable to watch the reunion!

How did I survive without my little helper the first time around.  Savannah is so good at bringing me wipes, diapers, burp rags, whatever I need.  She truly makes my days easier, and that is something I wasn't expecting.

Savannah has also taken to nursing her babies.  This took all of one day for her to figure out.  It's so cute to see her try to feed her baby.
 Pretty in Pink!
Nursing that little baby of hers
 Snuggle Sisters
She has been making tents every day.  She loves enjoying her snack or coloring in her tent.
We went in for a check up at 3 weeks.
Madison weighed in at 10 pounds 6 ounces (95th percentile).  I can't remember how long she was but I know that was the 95th percentile too.  I think she measured 21.5 inches.
 Two goofball sisters

Friday rolled around and this mama needed to get out of the house.  We decided to make Savannah a "car picnic", put her in her PJs and head out to get our dinner.  She thought this was the funniest thing.  She couldn't stop laughing when we told her what was going to happen.  Looks like this needs to happen more often.
My Aunt, Uncle and cousin stopped by this weekend to meet Madison.  Savannah obviously stole the show and insisted they come to her room and get on the top bunk with her.  Thank goodness no one was hurt in the process.

"Mom, will you take a smile of me."
It cracked me up the way she asked.  Sometimes those silly words get a little mixed up.
On Tuesday, our city basically shut down due to the cold temperatures (schools even closed simply because it was cold).  Fast forward to Sat and the temps reach 64 degrees.  You would have thought it was a summer heat wave.  Everyone was out and enjoying the short break in the cold weather.  We walked to the park to soak up all the sun we could.
Random picture my sister sent me
I told Savannah she could go outside and play once Daddy came home.  It was clearly too cold for me.  She got all bundled up and waited for him by the front door.  She loves spending time with him!

Madison's Baptism

Last weekend the Craigmile's packed their 4 lovely children in the car and made the trek to Kansas to celebrate Madison's Baptism.   Savannah was so excited for her "friends" to be here.

This picture was taken all of 5 minutes after they arrived.  They were enjoying watching their daddy's unpack the car.
These two could not get enough snuggles.

Look at this crew! It's going to be so much fun watching them grow up together.
Kaylee and Colby came over on Friday night.
We always have a good time when we are all together.
Savannah loved having three extra buddies during story time before bedtime
 Giving Mason a check up
 More snuggles
Madison clearly enjoyed all the attention

I acted like a total rookie mom and didn't feed Madison before her baptism.
She was totally fine during pictures and the second the ceremony started, she was a screaming mess.  Even though I couldn't hear anything the priest said, they tell me she still got baptized...Ok that's a slight exaggeration, but really it was bad.  I felt terrible for the other little girl getting baptized with us.  We'll probably meet up with her again once Madison starts kindergarten.
 Our family of four!
Madison loves her Godparents...Tom and I do too!

Everyone! I love Mason's face in this picture.
The Craigmile Crew - We had the best weekend with you all.  Thanks for coming down! Can't wait for our next God Family Weekend.

Sally, Libby, and Emma were so sweet to Savannah all weekend.  Great examples of young ladies. Savannah has got some fabulous role models in her life.
This is the baptismal gown Savannah, my sister, and I wore.  My grandma made it for me.  I love that my mom held on to this.
I wasn't kidding when I said these girls loved snuggling Madison.
Even Emma got in on the action.
My sweet little God Daughter!
And of course Savannah couldn't be left out of all the fun.
Someone had to take a quick power nap during the crazy Vikings game.  Looks like she gets to wear that Jersey again this weekend! Go Vikes! (Who am I? Tom has clearly brainwashed me.)

Home Again

I am so thankful to Tom's company for their amazing gift of 2 weeks paternity leave.  That's unheard of!! It was so nice having him home to help out.  Savannah loved spending one on one time with him when they took trips to Sam's Club, the pool, and Kidscape.  She sure does love her dad!

I have the same picture (I think in the same PJs) of Tom and Savannah like this.  This is Tom's favorite way to watch football!

Slippers, Sweats, Coffee in hand, Remote near by, baby sleep book
This is my life.
 Baking Cupcakes together!
Showing off her new PJ's from Kaylee, Colby, and Mary Grace
A lot of the frosting ended up in her mouth, but I have to admit that's how I roll too.

 Those lips!!
Is there anything cuter than a sleeping baby?
We celebrated the Epiphany with some hot cocoa in front of the Christmas tree.  Then we talked about the Kings and the gifts they brought Baby Jesus.  Savannah enjoyed pointing out the different people in my Nativity.
(Ignore the mess in the background.  We had newborn pics this morning and moved everything into the dining room. Everything might still be stack up in there)
Savannah and Tom build and painted a step stool for the kitchen.

 Just checking on her sister

Her favorite hiding spot for hide and seek.

She's very serious about her sleep
Meeting Joan for the first time!
Before these two went swimming.  Savannah thinks she needs to wear those glasses everywhere.
 Sister snuggles
I can't wait to get our newborn pictures back.
